Mint tea

Moroccan mint tea is an integral part of the soul of the Maghreb, which is infused in every drop.  More than a drink, it is the language of the heart, an offering of peace, friendship and smiles.

When tea is poured from above, it seems to dance, free and joyful, filling the glasses with intoxicating scents and ethereal foam.  Fresh mint symbolizes life, green tea wisdom, and sugar (in tradition, a loaf of sugar) the sweetness of human bonds.

Sharing it means weaving suspended and unforgettable moments into a ritual that invites us to slow down, to savor, to exist fully and above all to meet the Other, meditating on the fact that peace and joy are found Again.   It is the only tea for which we tolerate the addition of sugar, because it is cultural. In ours (Les 88 Thés) we incorporate a little cinnamon bark.
For the record, it was a VTC driver who told me about the mint tea that his mother prepared, she used to make it like that. I liked the story, I tried it, I adopted it.   Isn’t this a great example of exchange and sharing?
